Academic Integrity

I have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for cheating. Any student caught cheating will redo the assignment at lunch, a call home to parents, a BL-2, and a 1-page essay on academic integrity. This also applies to anyone assisting someone in cheating. To clarify, seeking out resources online to help you solve a problem is NOT cheating. Asking a parent or sibling to help you is NOT cheating. Asking Ms. Lagos for help, even if she walks you through every step of the problem, is NOT cheating. If anyone or anything gives you the answer, that IS cheating.

Hierarchy of Consequences

1st offense: Verbal warning. Teacher/student conference.
2nd offense: 30 minute after school detention
3rd offense: 60 minute after school detention
4th offense: Office referral

Homework Policies

Any classwork that is not completed in the provided class time becomes homework.

    • Ask politely.
    • Sign out and in properly on the bathroom log sheet.
    • Take the bathroom pass.
  • Students MAY NOT use the restroom:
    • Within the first or last 10 minutes of class
    • During note-taking, teacher led instruction, or tests.
  • Students should use the restroom or get water and then immediately return to class.
  • Students may not coordinate times to leave the room with friends in other classes.
  • Any student found to violate these policies will have their bathroom privileges revoked.
  • Students must have a pass to leave the room.
  • Students may not leave the classroom during:
    • Note taking
    • Teacher led instruction
    • Testing
  • Students must ask politely and state the reason they need to leave the classroom.
  • A student may go to the nurse at ANY TIME.
    • They must state that they need to see the nurse. For example, "Ms. Lagos, I'm not feeling well. May I go to the nurse?
