Academic Pentathlon
FAQ
What is it?
Academic Pentathlon is an academic competition hosted by Stanislaus County Office of Education. There are five tests that all participants must complete: Language and Literature, Math, Social Studies, Science, and Fine Arts. The Language and Literature test includes an essay component. Every student will participate in the Speech competition. Nine students will compete in the Super Quiz competition which is like a game show.
When is It?
Academic Pentathlon Official Tests, Super Quiz, and Awards Ceremony takes place on April 20, 2024.
Can I attend?
YES! We encourage families to come and support the team.
How Will You Prepare?
We are fortunate to be able to offer Academic Pentathlon as an elective. This means that students will not be asked to commit to after school practice. The team will meet every day as part of their regular class schedule. We will study the Pentathlon curriculum, practice writing skills, develop public speaking skills, and periodically take tests on the material to measure knowledge and ability.
What Can I do To Help?
The best way to help out is to LOUDLY and REGULARLY encourage your pentathlete! If there are any opportunities to volunteer or chaperone, you will be notified.
